Cordova, Tennessee ~ William Joel Mitchell, 76 of Cordova, Tennessee formerly of Campbell, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Joel, son of William George Mitchell and Jewell Margurette Williams Mitchell, was born on Sunday, August 15, 1943 in Campbell, Missouri.

He was a Veterinarian, having owned Bartlett Animal Clinic in Bartlett, Tennessee; and was a member of the Church of Christ in Cordova.  He was a Veteran of the United State Army having served during the Vietnam War.

On June 6, 1965 in Malden, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Peggy Moore.  She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Jane Iley and husband, Dan of Cordova, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Alexandra Hassan of Brooklyn, New York, Zach Hassan of Memphis, Tennessee; two sisters, Marilyn Brown of Tucson, Arizona and Pat Noe of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition with Mr. James Powell officiating. Burial will follow.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
