Tallapoosa ~ Virgil Eugene Hillis, 43 of Tallapoosa, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Virgil, son of William Hillis and Donna Sue Osborne Hillis, was born Wednesday, March 31, 1976, Fredericktown, Missouri.

He was a factory worker.

On October 22, 2004 in Piggott, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Jaime Knight.  She survives.

Other survivors include two step-sons, Delbert Cornett, II of Poplar Bluff, James Cornett of Tallapoosa; brothers William Hillis and Raymond Hillis both of Malden; one sister, Laura Hillis of Poplar Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Elizabeth Hatton; one brother, William Hillis, Jr.; and one niece Lyric Cornett.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 10, 2019, at Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell with Mr. James Powell officiating.
