Campbell ~ Vernon Wilson, 69 of Campbell, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Vernon, son of RV and Mavis Simpson Wilson, was born on Wednesday, May 6, 1953 in Hayti, Missouri.

On November 20, 1978 in Memphis, Tennessee, he was united in marriage to Patricia Permenter. She survives.

Vernon Wilson founded Wilson Trucking Company in1982, and continue to grow the business with his family over the last 41 years.

Other survivors include two daughters, Tonja Peterson and husband Stephen and Cheyenne Curry and husband, Kyle all of Oran; one son, Cody Wilson and wife, Lindsy of Campbell; 12 grandchildren, Shane Adair and wife, Candace, Kasey Adair, John Daniel Willis, Lane Peterson, Luke Peterson, Lila Peterson, Olivia Wilson, Parker Wilson, Mia Wilson, Gibson Curry, Brooks Curry and Carter Curry; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Patricia Morris and husband, Ed of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Terry Lefler of Malden.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Jeannie Higgins and one daughter, Kristy Phillips.

Visitation will begin at 5 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Landess Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn-Landess Addition Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.
