Campbell ~ Thomas Joe Provance, Sr., 79 of Campbell, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Malden Nursing and Rehab Center in Malden, Missouri.

Tom, son of William Louis and Mary Elizabeth Carman Provance, was born on Friday, January 17, 1941 in Clarkton, Missouri.

In 1955, Tom met Betty Ruth Barnett, at the soda fountain in Gunter's drug store in Campbell, and they were married on December 6, 1957 in Campbell. They were married for nearly 59 years and raised three children together before her death on October 25, 2016.

Tom was part of a large fun-loving family and was one of more than one hundred Provance first-cousins. His survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline Lee Manchas and husband, Joe of Malden, Cathy Lynn Provance of Campbell; one son, Thomas Joe Provance Jr. and wife, Mary of Poplar Bluff; three granddaughters; Kaylene Brown, Darby Carel, and Alyson Mickey; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, William Louis (Sonny) Provance Jr. of Malden, and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Tom's stories and laughter.

Tom worked for Melton Equipment Company for many years and later spent more than 20 years driving a truck for Falcon Communications.  Tom loved to tell stories about the places he had been and the many interesting people he met along the way, in the course of those travels.

He was a member of the Mt. Gilead General Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maryann McMillian and one brother, Charles Provance.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
