Holcomb ~ Thomas Mitchell Fortune, 67 of Holcomb, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at his residence in Holcomb, Missouri.

Thomas, son of Kenneth Oxley and Shirley Rawson Oxley, was born on Monday, October 20, 1958 in Akron, Ohio.

He worked at Walmart and attended the South Canaan Baptist Church in Gibson.

His survivors include father, Kenneth Oxley and step-mother, Evelyn Oxley; brothers, Timmy Fortune and wife, Debbie of Virginia, Eddie Oxley and wife, Margie of Scott City; niece, Melissa Jones and husband, Joe Velasques of Campbell; very best friend, Kristi Dye of Holcomb; daughter, Amy Lee Wade of Ohio; son, Thomas Mitchell Fortune, Jr. of Ohio; step-brothers, Christopher Smith and wife, April Evans and Patrick Oxley all of Poplar Bluff and many more friends and family.

Thomas was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Oxley; sister, Robin Jones and niece, Megan Oxley.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Missouri.  Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Missouri with Reverend Mark Odle officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Campbell, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
