Piggott ~ Thelbert "Hokie" Gene Holifield, 72 of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at his residence in Piggott, Arkansas.

Thelbert, son of Cecil and Dorothy Kegley Holifield, was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1953 in Piggott, Arkansas.

He was a truck driver and served in the National Guard.

His survivors include daughter, Laura Shaw and husband, Rick of Piggott; son, Scott Holifield of Texas; ten grandchildren, Richard (Ashley) Shaw, Bailey (Zac) Collins, Jake Shaw, Gunner (Ashley) Shaw, Josh Shaw, Chealsey (Adam) Risinger, Makenzie Grider, Tera (Chris) Curtis, Tiffany Lacey and Trey (Erin) Holifield; 19 great-grandchildren, stepsons, Blake Lawson and Tommy Hooker; lifelong friends, Alan Wyss and Darrell Galyean.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy Holifield; brother, Curtis Holifield and sister, Sue Conder.

A private service will be at held at a later date.  The Piggott Florist has the family's information.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
