Obituary

Shirley Ann Jacques, 88 of West Plains, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Ozark Healthcare in West Plains.  She was born on Saturday, October 2, 1937 in Holcomb, Missouri, to the late Dolcie Everett and Myrtle Marie Brown Carpenter,

On October 8, 1954, she was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Jacques in Gideon, Missouri.  They were married over 71 years.  To this union four children were born: Ramona Jacques Berger of Union, Kentucky; Jeffrey Lee Jacques (Holly) of Union, Kentucky, Timothy Scott Jacques (Melissa) of West Plains; Sean Carpenter Jacques (Nuri) of Altadena California.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry of the home; her four children; nine grandchildren Amanda Richardson (Greg), Michael Jacques (Caitlin), Lisa Jones (Mike), Caroline Berger, Kyle Berger, Olivia Jacques, Allison Jacques, Maya Jacques, Bella Jacques; 12 great-grandchildren, Lacy Jo Richardson, Laina Richardson, Bryce Richardson, Brock Richardson, Cara Jacques, Rhet Jones, Karli Richardson, Aria Jones, Cash Jacques, Rora Jones, Stella Richardson, and Thea Jones; one brother, Leon Carpenter (Ginny) of Holt's Summit; and a host of friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Dale Carpenter.

A member of the Church of Christ, Shirley's greatest ambition was to fill her God-given role as the keeper of the home, which she did well. She aspired to follow the example of the Virtuous Woman recorded in Proverbs 31. Her children and grandchildren arise and call her blessed; her husband also praised, trusted and loved her.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri. Funeral services be at 11 a.m., at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Brother Stan Dauck officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.
