Shawn Murphy, 56 of Malden, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri surrounded by his loved ones. Shawn was born on Wednesday July 13, 1966 in Kennett, Missouri.

Shawn met the love of his life in March of 1985 and was united in marriage to Misty Hicks on Saturday, May 23, 1987 in Parma, Missouri. He was the owner of his own construction company and passionate about the simple things in life - hunting, golf, and most importantly his family. He was of the General Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Samantha DeNae Murphy; father Edward Lee Murphy, and step-father Walter Dale (Bo) Landers; grandparents, A.B and Georgia Mae Parker; and maternal uncle Jackie Paul Parker.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Misty Murphy; his two daughters and their families: Kelsey Duty, son-in-law Brandon and granddaughter Madee Claire of Jackson, MO and Kassidy Reeves, son-in-law Kyle and grandson Kreighton Burke of Paragould, AR; mother Verla Landers, step mother Robin Murphy; in-laws Doyle and Janie Hicks; half siblings Scott Murphy and wife Angel, Nicole Landers-Tucker and husband Kevin, and Pamela Murphy; his sister-in-law Christi Pipkin and husband Chuck; nieces and nephews Ethan and Evan Pipkin and Kylee Lewis; Spencer, Tanner and wife Ashley, Conner and Harper Murphy; Mason Murphy Foster; and Nuranda, Monty, Mason and Bella Tucker; along with other dear friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, MO from 6-8 P.M.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the Landess Funeral Chapel at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Kenny Burchard officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, MO.
