Richard Eugene Spence, 68 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 in Columbus, Mississippi. Richard son of the late Bill Spence & Ollie Louise Williams Spence was born on September 4, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Richard did machine maintenance at Federal Mogul. He was united in marriage to Verna Lee Wheeler on October 26, 1975 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She survives of the home in Malden.

His other survivors include three sons: Jeff Spence & wife, Katie of St. Louis, Rick Spence of Dexter and Steven McClain & wife, Vanessa of St. Louis. Daughter: Tina Jones & husband, Brent of Bloomfield. Grandchildren: Jacob Haney, Timothy Spence, Amber Spence, Tyler Spence, Donovan Spence, Charlotte McClain & Miles McClain. Great-grandchildren: Carter Spence & Peyton Murdock. Sisters: Carolyn Matthews, Cathy Baggett, Peggy Sue Spence, Annie Maddox & Betty Spence. Brothers: Billy Spence, Walter Spence & Mark Spence.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons: David McClain & Richard Spence II, 3 Sisters: Donna Toomey, Linda McClain & Delores Hughey.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 12-1 P.M. at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden. Graveside services will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden with Pastor Leroy Young officiating.
