Poplar Bluff, Mo. - Rex Dale Swiney (63) of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Campbell, Mo., passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Mo., after a fierce battle with cancer.

Rex, son of George and Gladys Swiney, was born on June 26, 1957, in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Both George and Gladys preceded him in death.

Rex was a retired truck driver who enjoyed fishing, working on his Jeep, and hanging out with his friends and family.

On April 16, 2006, he married Connie Joy Murphy who survives him. Other survivors include one sister, Neda G. Swiney of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two stepsons, Casey (Misty) McBroom of Independence, Mo. and Corey (Austin) McBroom of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandchildren, Rainey and Rowen McBroom of Independence, Mo.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins around the Poplar Bluff-Campbell areas.

Visitation will be from 12 noon till 2:00 pm, on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell, Mo. A graveside service will follow at the Elder Cemetery in Campbell, Mo., with Brother Darren Baker officiating.
