Obituary

Malden ~ Rev. Jimmy David Cornman, 74 of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at his residence in Malden, Missouri.

Jimmy, son of Noah and Juanita Crider Cornman, was born on Thursday, June 17, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

He was a retired school teacher and a member of the 1 st Southern Baptist Church in Malden. He served as an ordained Southern Baptist Minister for 45 years.  He enjoyed reading, hunting and spending time with family.  He was a Veteran of United States Army having served during the Vietnam War.

On December 20, 1968 in Mitchell, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Carolyn Joyce.  She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Dawn Vogel and husband, Jerry of Sikeston; two sons, Eric Cornman and wife, Kelly of St. Louis, Rev. Dr. Aaron Cornman and wife, Leigh Ann of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren, Cara Vogel Lacewell and husband, Zach of Gideon, Audrey Vogel of Sikeston, Jackie Vogel of Sikeston, Hannah Hebblethwaite-Cornman of St. Louis, Isabella Hebblethwaite-Cornman of St. Louis, Jonah Hebblethwaite-Cornman of St. Louis, Madison Cornman Rhodes and husband, Hayden of Gideon, Baleigh Cornman of Hillsboro, Drew Cornman of Hillsboro; one brother, Bob Cornman; seven sisters, Doris Wilson, Darlis Matthews, Laura Jackson, Linda Stanfield, Hazel Laws, Cathy LaFerney, Debe Eaves; and countless nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arley Cornman, Roger Cornman and Rick Cornman.

Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.  Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2022 with Reverend Dr. Aaron Cornman officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be David Cornman, Jonah Cornman, Drew Cornman, Steve Joyce, Zach Lacewell and Chris Lafata
