Campbell ~ Ray Lavell Smith, 74 of Campbell, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his residence in Campbell.

Ray, son of Felix Monroe and Lula Mae Polsgrove Smith, was born on Sunday, August 20, 1944 in Bragg City.

He retired from the Highway Department and was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church in Malden.

On September 3, 1978 in Dexter, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Gloria Daniels.  She survives.

Other survivors include four daughters, Ko Smith of West Plains, Julia Cocklin and husband, Michael of Campbell, Rena Robinson and husband, Art of Anniston, Missouri, Heather Duke and husband, Glenn of West Plains; nine grandchildren,  Jessica Counts, Wendy Counts, Casey Tatum, Scotlynn Robinson, Hayley Lafferty and husband, Dustin, Zach Robinson, Cassey Turner and husband, Ethan, Kyle Duke and Jarred Duke; three great-grandchildren, Millie Turner, Kinzlee Duke and Theo Turner; one sister, Savannah Gaskin of Van Buren and one brother, James Smith of Anniston, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Darren Ray Smith; one brother, Felix Smith and one sister, Brenda Goldsmith.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.  Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2018 with Rev. William Hill officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
