Malden ~ Peggy "Provance" Evans, 91 of Malden, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Ridgeview Living Community in Malden, Missouri.

Peggy, daughter of Robert K. and Leona Surface Holifield, was born on Saturday, May 3, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was a retired Elementary Teacher having taught at Gideon, Campbell and Malden and was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.

She was first married to John W. Evans, Jr. He preceded her in death on May 1, 1996.  She later married James Dalton Provance on September 9, 1997 in Malden, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on June 21, 2008.

Her survivors include one sister, Bette Daniels of Temecula, California; niece, Melody Mead of Arlington, Texas; step-children, Nelda Crosby, Saundra Stroud, Anita Provance, James Dalton Provance, Jr. and Sandra K., Cheri Lynn Brunner and Ralph; beloved god-children, Kandi Chidister, Alexa Hawkins and Driah Rhodes all of Malden.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, with Reverend Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

Landess Funeral Home of Malden will be in charge of arrangements.
