Obituary

Paula June Polen, who graced this earth from October 3, 1929, to February 6, 2025, lived a life as rich and textured as the Missouri soil where she was born. Paula's journey was marked by laughter, love, and a touch of orneriness that endeared her to everyone she met.

In 1947, Paula married the love of her life, James H. Polen, and together they made a life filled with adventure and service. Their daughter Cusandra was born in 1947 and soon after they moved to Michigan. It was there she was hired by General Motors AC spark plug factory. Their son Ted was born in 1952. For several years James and Paula dedicated their lives to the family run "The Triple P"commercial dairy farm. Additionally, Paula dedicated 30 years of hard work at General Motors before retiring and returning to Malden. Her devotion to her community was palpable as she immersed herself in the Blue Hairs of Malden and served at the local nutrition center. Paula was also a proud member of the Eastern Star.

Paula's personality was a tapestry of laughter and love. She was never without a joke, always ready with a playful tease, and possessed a spontaneity that kept life exciting. Her heart was enormous, embracing each family member and friend with warmth and care. Above all, Paula cherished her family. She was preceded in death by James and son Ted. Paula leaves behind daughter Cusandra, grandchildren Nancy, Ted Jr., Becky and Raegan. Great grandchildren Kelsey, Kaycie, Logan, Peyton, Lola, Ryan, Olivia and Beckett. Great-great grandchildren Kypton, Gatlynn, Kolson and Grayden encompassing a legacy of love that spans generations.

We gather to celebrate Paula's life at Landess Funeral Home on Friday, February 14, 2025. Visitation will begin at 10am followed by the service at 11am. Please join us to remember the love, vitality and spirit she shared with us.
