Nettie Sue Smith was born on Sunday, March 29, 1936 in Holcomb, Missouri to the late Joseph Aaron Case and Alma Eskew Case. She departed this life on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Gideon Care Center at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 11 days.
Sue was an elementary school secretary and was baptized in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
On January 22, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Franklin Delano Smith. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2020. Also preceding her in death were her daughter, Gwendolyn Barrera and a brother, James Case.
Her survivors include, grandson, Jeremy Lawrence Lott of Forest City, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Cody Lott of Clarkton, Cierra Lott and fiancée, John of Poplar Bluff, Amelia Lott and Emma Lott both of St. Louis; great-great grandchildren, Corbin Lott, Kylie Saltzman, Caislee Lott, Whitley Ziegler, and Remington Lott; sister, Betty Jo Case Lape of Malden; and son-in-law, Henry Barrera of Malden.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Reverend Stephen Watkins officiating. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Landess Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
