Holcomb ~ Nancy R. Nelson, 79 of Holcomb, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Nancy, daughter of Albert Monroe and Opal Verneil Merideth Bullinger, was born on Thursday, June 6, 1946 in Rector, Arkansas.

She worked at DAEOC HeadStart, as a teacher in Holcomb and Malden for eighteen years and worked at ABC Preschool in Piggott for five years. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her favorite hobby was loving her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and also, sewing and cooking.

On March 30, 1962 in Rector, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Joseph “Bud” Garlin Nelson. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2021 after 59 years of marriage.

Her survivors include three sons, Joe Nelson, Jr. (Kim) and Jerry Nelson all of Holcomb; Steve Nelson (Tina) of Springdale, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Kassandra Dalton, Stephanie (Jesus) Mendoza, Joseph “Trai” Nelson III, Jacob Nelson (Dallas), Trystan Nelson, Michael Nelson, Mason Nelson (Cierra); and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Nelson; brothers, James “Junior” Bullinger, Lindle Bullinger, Wayne Bullinger, Gene Bullinger; sisters, Glenda Shipley, Carolyn Bullinger and four great-angel babies.

Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2026 at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Reverend Pam Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition, in Campbell, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jesus Mendoza, Joseph “Trai” Nelson III, Jacob Nelson, Trystan Nelson, Michael Nelson and Mason Nelson.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell is in charge of the arrangements.
