Obituary

Malden ~ Monia Allean Townsend was the fifteenth born child to Lula Bell Townsend and Robert Reed on Friday, November 13 1970.  She grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden High School.

Monia was Home Healthcare Worker and worked for Columbia Public School.  She formerly attended the Zion Grove Church.

Monia had six children that she started raising in Malden, they moved to St. Louis and then later moved to Columbia, Missouri, where she resided until time of death.

Monia departed this life from her home on Sunday, July 17, 2022 awaiting her, her twin, Enya (her baby), Mother, three sisters, Christine Washington, Ollie Eskridge and Elaine Townsend and five brothers, Jesse Townsend, Theodus Townsend, Johnny Townsend, J. C. Townsend and James Davison.

Monia lived a full and blessed life.  She loved traveling, enjoyed laughing and having fun with family and friends.  She enjoyed being the life of the party and the pose of the picture.

She left to cherish her memories and love; three sons, Marquan Townsend, Naaman Caldwell of Colombia, Missouri and Leo Townsend (Sarah) of Malden; two daughters, London Townsend and Innocent (Zack) Caldwell of St. Louis; ten grandchildren; father Robert Reed (May) of Malden; nine brothers, WC Eskridge of Tunica, Mississippi, Willie Andrews of St. Louis, Elvis Coleman Townsend of Malden, Charles (Chucky) Townsend of Sikeston, Leo Townsend of Chicago, Illinois, Billy Porter, LV Reed and Leonard (Hambone) Porter of Malden, Jeanosky Herron of Sikeston; seven sisters, Carrie Lisa Kilgore of Columbia, Janella Reed of Memphis, Tennessee, Susie (Virgil) Cooper of Memphis, Rose Reed of Malden, Rosie (Rebe)  Burton of Denver, Colorado, Dezirae Smith of Mexico, Missouri, Sherry Burton of Cape Girardeau, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, who will miss her dearly. And a special friend A. D. Hamilton.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, with funeral services beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden will be in charge of arrangements.
