Piggott ~ Maxine Edwards, 76 of Piggott formerly of Campbell, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Maxine, daughter of Luther and Lottie Carroll Tankersley, was born on Wednesday, February 10, 1943 in Shirley, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Campbell; she loved to cook and be with family.

On April 25, 1959, in Kennett, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Gerry Ray "Doc" Edwards.  He preceded her in death on December 4, 2018.

Her survivors include one daughter, Gayla Renae Gill and husband Kevin of Poplar Bluff; three sons, Garry Dean Edwards and wife, Betty, Allan Ray Edwards and Michael Dewayne Edwards and wife, Marie all of Piggott; special son, Connie Edwards of Malden; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Gill, Jr. and wife, Maranda, Magen Gunsolley and husband, Dave, Joshua Gill, C. Jay Edwards, Brianna Edwards, Tasha Edwards-Causey and husband, Eric, Theresa Forrest, Kaylee Edwards, Tammy Edwards, Marshall Dilger, Jherii Carey and husband, Josh; and thirteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Tankersley and wife, Rita; four sisters, Geraldine Steward, Charlene Lightfoot, Marcel Bledsoe and Thelma Singleton and husband, Linnie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson Matthew Forrest; one brother, Raymond Tankersley; two sisters, Carolyn Jannetta Whorton and Marilyn Louise Lack.

Visitation will be from 12 - 1 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell with services beginning at 1 p.m., with Mr. Terry Tate officiating.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
