Mark Wade Durham passed away on Friday January 23, 2026 at the age of 72. Mark was born on Saturday November 28, 1953 to Leslie Lee Durham and Wilma Marie (Cole) Durham in Parma, MO. He graduated from Parma High School in 1972. He was united in marriage to Sheila Jean Evans on July 18, 1975 in Malden, MO. Their union was a reflection of lasting love and steadfast devotion. Shortly after high school graduation, Mark was employed by the Cotton Belt Railroad. He was a very devoted signalman for 44 years. Shortly after retiring, he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. This lead him on a challenging journey that he fought very hard. He had many friends and family that helped make the journey bearable. Mark is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sheila, his mother, Wilma Marie Durham; his two sons, David Christopher Durham and wife Becky of Sikeston. Jason Ray Durham and wife Melanie of Campbell, MO and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan and Anna Harris, Blair Elizabeth Durham, and Easton Cole Durham and one very precious great granddaughter, Kennedy Marie Harris that will arrive in April. Also survived by one sister, Sheri Lee Stewart of Broxton, Georgia, one brother Christopher Scott Durham of Campbell, MO one brother-in-law, Larry Evans and wife Donna of Poplar Bluff, MO. Mark was blessed by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Lee Durham and brother David Wayne Durham. Marks legacy of love, boundless generosity and hard work touched us all and he had a profound impact on our lives, and will live on in each of us.
We, the family, wish to express our deepest and most sincere appreciation to all of our family and friends for being a part of Marks journey and for standing with us in this time of sorrow and rememberance. Your unwavering support, love, and kindness have been a source of strength for all of us. Rest in peace, our dear Mark, knowing that you will forever be loved and remembered.
Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM Thursday January 29, 2026 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM Thursday January 29, 2026 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Pastor Mark Pickard officiating. Interment will be in the Durham Family Cemetery in Campbell. Landess Funeral Home in Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
