Obituary

Chaffee ~ Marilyn Lee Calbert, 73 of Chaffee, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, in St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Marilyn, daughter of Estil “Bullet” and Bonda Toombs McElwrath, was born on Friday, June 26, 1953 in Kennett, Missouri.

She worked at Metal Removal/RTW for nearly 20 years. Then, earned a Batchelor’s Degree in construction management and designed kitchens for several years before retiring. She attended Anchor Baptist Church.

Her survivors include son, Brad Calbert and wife, Desiree of Falcon, Missouri; daughter, Brandi Henderson and husband, Stevie of Campbell; grandchildren, Colin Calbert of Eugene, Oregon, Andi Fernandez (Aaron) of Kingsland, Georgia, Karyssa Calbert (Ethan Morkes) of Springfield, Missouri, Chasity Slemmer of Waynesville, Missouri, Austin Henderson (Delaney) of Campbell, Ashlin Crawford (Gage) of Bauxite, Arkansas, Autri Henderson of Campbell; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Charlee and Liam Fernandez; Spencer Calbert, Shepherd Morkes and Ezra Slemmer; brother, Dennis J. “Pete” McElwrath; nephew, Dennis L. McElwrath; and oodles of fur grand and great-grand babies!

Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri, with memorial service beginning at 2 p.m., with Reverend T.J. Null. Burial will immediately follow at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider honoring Marilyn and her family by making a donation to Anchor Academy. Anchor Academy was founded in 1999 by Marilyn’s nephew, Dennis L. McElwrath. It is a faith-based ministry and structured academy located in Vanduser, Missouri, dedicated to reaching and supporting high risk young men. Marilyn attended church services and activities with many of the young men involved with Anchor Academy. She was deeply touched by the positive impact the Academy had on their lives and developed a genuine love and compassion for them and the mission. It meant a great deal to her to see the growth and positive changes place in their lives. In honor of Marilyn, donations may be sent to: Anchor Academy, 705 Vanduser St., Vanduser, MO 63784.

Visitation and service are under the direction of Landess Funeral Home and Crematory in Campbell, Missouri.
