Lola Mae (House) Rice passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, MO at the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 23 days.
Lola was born March 28, 1930 to the late Pete House and Maggie Gray House in Iuka, Mississippi. She had worked at the shoe factory in Parma and was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Malden. She loved to work in her flowers.
On May 23,1953 she was united in marriage to Johnny Dalton "Slim" Rice in Leachville, AR. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2014. Also preceding her in death were 2 brothers: J.C. House and James House; 2 sisters: Erma Woods and Estale Russell; 1 daughter: Brenda Fay Weaver; 2 grandsons: Danny and Johnny Flanigan; and 1 great grandson: Ayden Fernendes.
Her survivors include: 1 daughter, Carolyn Martin of Malden; 2 sons: Jim Rice of Risco and Bob Rice of Little Rock, AR; 1 brother, Robert (Red) House of Malden; 3 sisters: Lorene Rice of Malden, Virgie Cornell of Portageville, MO; Joann Fry of Malden; 1 sister-in-law, Ruthie Moore of Malden; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, 2022 at 1 PM at the United Pentecostal Church in Malden with funeral services following at 2 PM with Rev. Bobby Moore officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden. Landess Funeral Home and Crematory in Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
