Lee Rand Woolverton, 51 of Malden, passed away due to natural causes on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at his residence in Malden.

Lee, son of Gerald Rand Woolverton and Lynn McElrath Woolverton, was born on Wednesday, January 10, 1973 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

From the earliest age, he was a farm kid — back when that meant farm kids "chopped cotton" — and lover of the outdoors.  Lee was a conservationist at heart with honed survival skills. He was an avid hunter of deer and rabbit and loved to fish.

Lee worked hard and loved to learn. Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Financial Management from Missouri State University. After University, he followed his interests from working in the financial markets, to founding a grocery store, to working with his hands in construction. He was one of the earliest contractors laying cable, which supported internet infrastructure and growth in the Southeastern United States. Lee had a nose for the trends. Too bad we didn't listen more often.

It would be impossible to capture how much Lee loved his kids, his pets, and his music. From church camp to Christmas plays, Lee was also a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene in Malden.

His survivors include; father, Gerald Woolverton of Malden; mother, Lynn Woolverton of Malden, son; Jayden Rand Woolverton of Poplar Bluff; daughter, Kadeigh LeeAnn Woolverton of Poplar Bluff; sister, Andrea Elizabeth Woolverton and husband, Colin Ganley of León, Nicaragua and a niece, Lucille Elizabeth Ganley of León, Nicaragua.

He is preceded in death by his dear grandparents: paternal grandmother Sara Randolph Woolverton; paternal grandfather, William (Sam) Woolverton; maternal grandmother, Lucille Pennington McElrath; paternal grandfather, Roy Lee McElrath as well as many dear pets he kept by his side during his lifetime.

Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2024, beginning a 11 AM at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 PM in the Landess Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Stephen Watkins officiating. Interment will be Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
