Layman Polen, 91, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Malden was born on Monday, March 18, 1929 in Malden, Missouri to the late Charley Polen, & Remmo Cooper Polen. He departed this life on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at his residence in Cape Girardeau.

Layman retired from the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1950-1970. After retiring he became a cotton and soybean farmer. He was of the Baptist faith.

His survivors include: Daughter: Dejuana Kim Aldrich & husband, Paul of Oakland, California and their children: Peter Aldrich, Timothy (Mallory) Aldrich, Rebakah Aldrich, Sarah Aldrich & Justin Polen.

Son: Cord Polen & wife, Martha of Cape, Girardeau, MO. and their children: Sarah (Brad) Polen-Main and Emily (Jacob) Buell.

Son: Michael Polen & wife, Tina  of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Son: Thomas Polen & wife, Twyla of Lu Verne, Alabama and their son: Dallas Polen.

Great grandchildren: James Main & Henry Main sons of Sarah Polen-Main.

Layman was preceded in death by his wife: Mayland Alice Polen, and his parents.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
