Malden –John Edward Hampton, 72 of Malden, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, Missouri.

John, son of Sodie and Mary Lou Hamilton Hampton, was born on Sunday, August 17, 1952 in Malden, Missouri.

John worked at Noranda and later at Harp's in Malden. He attended Sunnyvale General Baptist Church in Malden.

On September 4, 2007 in Piggott, Arkansas, he was united in marriage to Peggy Allen. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2020.

His survivors include, son, John "JJ" Hampton, Jr. and wife Christy of Kennett, Missouri; four grandsons, Dylan, Nolon, Canan and Zalyn; brother, Bill Hampton and wife Connie of Deland, Florida.

Visitation will be Friday, August 23, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Landess Funeral Home in Malden with funeral services directly following at 2:00 P.M. in the Landess Funeral Home chapel in Malden, with Rev. Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
