Gibson ~ Jerry Clayton Umfress, 72 of Gibson, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020 at his sister's residence in Campbell, Missouri.

Jerry, son of R.C. Umfress and Lessie Mae McCarley Umfress, was born on Monday, August 10. 1947 in Braggadocio, Missouri.

He was the owner and mechanic of Umfress Garage and veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War.

On June 17, 1974 in Campbell, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Parker.  She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Robin Black and husband Jerald of Gibson, Rosie Noble of Dexter; four sons, Eric Phillips of Gibson, Terry Umfress and Katie Tungate of Gibson, Bobby Umfress and wife, Hally of Malden, Gary Umfress and wife, Kathy of Gibson; eight sisters, Elsie Kirkpatrick, Sharon Corbett, Dorothy Goss, Barbara Eberle, Sheila Akridge and Anita Rhody all of Campbell, Mavis Marie Keirns of Clarkton, Brenda Price of Hannibal, Missouri; six brothers, Eddie Umfress of Columbia, Wayne Umfress, Don Umfress and Dale Umfress all of Campbell; Robert Umfress of Success, Missouri, James Umfress of St. Louis; ten grandchildren, Clayton Wayne Black, Jacob Ryan Black, Megan Elizabeth Black, B.J. Minard and husband, Blake Evan, Steven Phillips, Taylor Akridge, Kevin Brown Umfress, Kaleb Brown Umfress, Justin Tungate and Tyler Snider Tungate; and several more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jerry Clayton Umfress, Jr.; two brothers, Ricky and Keith Umfress; granddaughter, Molly Black and grandson, Tyler Umfress.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
