Holcomb ~ Jerry McCormick, 78 of Holcomb, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Jerry, son of Lloyd and Cuba Reeves McCormick, was born on Tuesday, June 2, 1942 in Holcomb, Missouri.

He was an Optician, starting as an apprentice. He worked for Dr. Scott & Borders for over 40 years before retiring.  After three years of retirement, he went back to work, having worked for Rouse Vision Clinic for the last 13 or 14 years.  He served on the school board, city council, park board and held offices in the Holcomb Farmers and Merchants Club.

On March 10, 1962 in Holcomb, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Lincoln.  She preceded him in death on May 17, 2018.  Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sally McCormick.

His survivors include three sons, David McCormick and wife, Kim of Holcomb, Dennis McCormick and wife, Sandy of Campbell, Jeff McCormick of Kennett; eight grandchildren, Justin McCormick, Morgan McCormick, Paden McCormick, Brittney Tucker, Dylan McCormick, Tyler Crawford, Emma McCormick and Jax McCormick; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Lloyd McCormick and wife, JoAnn of Campbell and one sister, Connie Gooch and husband, Perry of Cabot, Arkansas.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021 at the Landess Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Vaughn officiating.  Burial will follow at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.

Pallbearers will be grandson, Tyler Crawford, Dylan McCormick, Justin McCormick, Paden McCormick, Jax McCormick and Ripken Tucker.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
