Jerry Max Cornett passed away on Monday January 19, 2026 at his residence in Malden at the age of 87 years, 9 months, and 16 days.  Jerry was born on Sunday April 3, 1938 in Melrose, Arkansas to the late Frank Cornett and Lanora Kirkland Cornett.

He had served as a police officer, retired from Emerson Trucking, then later drove a school bus for Gideon Schools.

On July 17, 1961, Jerry Max Cornett was united in marriage to Michell Ann Tracey in Peach Orchard, Missouri. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2015.  Also preceding him in death were his son, Jerry Lee Cornett and grandson, Dylan Cornett.

His survivors include daughter, Jackie Lynn Cornett of Bernie; sons, Jimmy Wayne Cornett and wife Dee and Rob Cornett and wife Tammy all of Malden; grandchildren, Pam, Ashley, Billy and Jimi and great-grandchildren Daylen, Hayden, Brycen, Mackennlei, Warren, Rhett, Ruger, Brayden, Levi, Mason, Kayden, Haylen, Ethen, Gracelynn, Cullen, Micheal, Auberey, Grayson, Payton, Austin, Aliya, Paiton and Harper.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 22, 2026 at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Missouri with Reverend William Hill officiating.
