Lilbourn ~ James William (Buck) Breece, 78 of rural Risco, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at his residence in Lilbourn, Missouri.

Buck, son of Leo and Viola Sanders Breece was born on Monday, August 30, 1943 in Parma, Missouri. He was a proud Parma Pirate graduate of 1962.

Buck was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the VFW Post 7183.  Buck retired from Noranda Aluminum after 32 years. He believed in a strong work ethic and being faithful to family and friends.  Buck's pride and joy were his two grandchildren.  He enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, fishing, and gardening.  Buck loved attending auctions and collecting valuables, as he called it (his family called it junk).  His favorite pastime was drinking coffee and telling stories at the local coffee shops.  Buck never met a stranger.

On July 2, 1969 in Cuba, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Marie Higgins.  She survives.

Other survivors include two children, Victoria Breece of Dexter and Jimmy Breece and wife, Micah of Gideon; two grandchildren, Grant Breece and Addilyn Breece both of Gideon; sisters, Levada Oaker and Pauline Baldwin; brother, Randy Breece; brother-in-law, J.W. Lawrence; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Viola Breece; sisters, Betty Lawrence, Wilma (James) Baker and Laverne Ohr; brothers, Doyle Breece and Tom Breece.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2022 at the 1 ^st Baptist Church in Gideon, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Paul Karratti officiating.  Burial will follow at Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be Doyle Wayne Lawrence, Buddy Howard, Charles Schroyer, Mark Schroyer, Ethan Schroyer and Robert Baldwin.
