Howard Louis Winberry, son of Cecil and Nina Gibson Winberry, was born on Thursday, October 28, 1926 in Rives, Missouri.  He departed this life on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 93 years, 2 months and 13 days.

He was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Malden and also was an Associate Pastor.  He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was first married to Marlis Winberry on November 19, 1948.  She preceded him in death on July 19, 1998.  He later married Bonnie Corlew Matthews on May 27, 2000 in Malden, Missouri.  She survives

His children include:

Son:  Wade Matthews and wife, Terri of Bloomfield

Daughter:  LaDonna Mitchell, and husband, Jeff of Malden

5 Grandchildren:  Erica Jones and husband, Josh of Paragould, Landon Winberry and wife, Audrey of Paragould, Kyle Matthews and wife, Aubrey of Omaha, Arkansas, Jordan Mitchell of Malden and Nate Matthews of Bloomfield

3 Great-Grandchildren:  Logan Jones, Joselyn Jones and Piper Winberry

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Winberry; 3 brothers, Melvin Winberry, Davey Winberry and Cecil Winberry; and an infant granddaughter, Leslie Winberry.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 5 – 8 p.m., at the First General Baptist Church in Malden.  Funeral services will be on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Stewart-Allen Clark, Ron Black and Jonathan Rice officiating. Interment will be in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas
