George Dawson of Malden, was born on Saturday February 8, 1930 to the late John Dawson and Cindy Kirby Dawson in Caruth, Missouri.  He departed this life on Friday August 1, 2025 at Memory Lane in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 95 years, 5 months, and 24 days.  George served his country honorably in the United States Army and then worked as a carpenter.   He was a charter member of the Second General Baptist Church in Malden.

On February 9, 1954, George Leonard Dawson was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Blaylock in Malden.  She preceded him in death on December 15, 2016.  Also preceding him in death were his daughter, Debra Kay Geohagan; son in law, James "Cap" Geohagan; and several brothers and sisters.

His survivors include:  grandsons, Douglas Jay Geohagan and wife Stephanie of Bernie; Ashley Brent Geohagan and wife Brandi of Kennett; great grandchildren, Brent Geohagan and wife Faith of Bernie; Andrew Geohagan and wife Mycah of Bernie; Dawson Geohagan of Kennett; Ashlyn Geohagan of Kennett and Mackenzie Meese of Bernie; great great grandchildren, Xander Geohagan; Nolan Geohagan; and Ezra Geohagan all of Bernie.

Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM on Friday August 8, 2025 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM Friday August 8, 2025 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Shawn Parker officiating.   Serving as pallbearers will be Douglas Geohagan, Ashley Geohagan, Brent Geohagan, Andrew Geohagan, Dawson Geohagan, and Chris Clubbs.    Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.  Landess Funeral Home in Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
