Obituary

We are heartbroken to share that Gary Wayne Wilson, a devoted Christian man and beloved brother, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at his home in Campbell, Missouri. Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing he is at peace in the presence of the Savior he loved so deeply.

Gary was the kind of man who found joy in the simple things. He had a quiet strength and a kind heart that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. If you ever drove past his house, chances are you would catch him out in his yard, working with his hands, tending to the grass, or trimming bushes with care. That yard was more than just a patch of land—it was his little sanctuary, a place where he could reflect and find peace.

Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Campbell, and his Bible was never far from reach. He read it not just out of habit, but out of genuine love and hunger for God's Word. His faith wasn't just something he talked about—it was something he lived every day. Through life's ups and downs, his trust in God never wavered, and that faith shaped the way he loved and served those around him.

Gary was born in Kennett, MO on December 16, 1961 to Euel and Merle Wilson who proceeded him in death as well as one brother Michael Euel. He has four sisters who he loved dearly:  LaVonda Pyle (Carl), Deronda Propst (Mitchel), Shiela Boyles (Larry), and Pam Daily (George).  He was also blessed with five nieces, two nephews, seven great-nieces and nephews and a host of close friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28 from 6:00 to 8:00pm with the funeral service at 11:00 on Tuesday, April 29 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.  Gary will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he has received the ultimate reward—a place in heaven, where there's no more pain, only joy. We will carry his memory in our hearts, and we'll keep tending our own "gardens" just like he did—with care, love, and quiet faith.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell are in charge of the arrangements.
