Gary Don Hill, "Gabby" was born on April 14, 1950 to William Hill and Willie Lee Nelson Smith both preceded him in death.  He was the third oldest of 14 children, two of which preceded him in death.

Gabby received a formal education from Malden Public Schools and graduate from Malden High School in 1969. Then went on to get a degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana

Gabby met Bessie (Mathes) Hill 1973 and two son's were born from this union.  Gabby and his family moved to Indianapolis, Indiana where he authored a column in the Indianapolis Star Newspaper.  Gabby is also a book writer.  He is most known for his book entitled "Baker's Will".

Gabby was the life of the party where ever he went.  His remarkable James Brown impressions always seemed to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He was very friendly wherever he went. He will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew him.  He was a true friend and a devoted brother who loved family. Gabby was also an ardent and passionate supporter of ongoing efforts to instill a greater Afro-centric mindset in America's African youth

Gabby leaves to mourn two sons, Kaceshus Hill (Chasity) and Kareem Hill of Malden, Mo., eight grandchildren Kaceshus Hill, Jr., Marquis Carter, Shusecka Hill, Olivia Kemp, NeKamre Hill, Anthony Hagen, Frank Tillman, Kiaez Hill and five Great Grandchildren, Zaden Mccoy, Coriero Clark Jr., Noa Mccoy and Rhylea Mccoy. Gabby also leaves to mourn seven brothers, Charles (Kim) Pulliam, Willie (Ada) Pulliam, Robert Smith, Sr., Ronald Smith, Dale (Janice) Smith, and Harold Smith.  Five sisters, Betty Smith, Barbara Smith, Patricia Triplett, Edna Swenson, and Nollie (Kenneth) Burnett, one uncle Lee (Lenora) Nelson and two Aunts, Ophilia Nelson and Mary Lee Nelson. nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020, with the funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, MO. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Malden, MO.
