Wappapello ~ Frederick Joseph Fortman, 80 of Wappapello, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Fred, son of Frederick Henry and Agnes Mary Gass Fortman, was born on Monday, January 18, 1943 in Glennonville, Missouri.

He was a construction worker and member of the St. Teresa Catholic Church.

His survivors include three brothers, Bernard Fortman of Troy, Willie Fortman of Dexter, Richard Fortman of Campbell; three sisters, Agnes Altmeyer of Evansville, Indiana, Mary Bernadine Fortman of Glennonville, Cecilia Fortman of St. Peters; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Carol Studt of Wappapello and  friend and neighbor, Donna Miller of Wappapello.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother and brothers, Leo Fortman, Paul Fortman; Jim Fortman; and sisters, Virginia Pentecost and Susan Allen.

Celebration of Life will be celebrated at a later date.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell are in charge of the arrangements.
