Franklin Smith, 87 of Clarkton, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Franklin, son of John Smith and Virgie Dillard Smith, was born on Saturday, August 12, 1933 in Kennett, Missouri.

He was a farmer and was baptized in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served during the Korean War.

On Saturday, January 22, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Nettie Sue Case, she survives.

Other survivors include daughter, Gwendolyn Barrera & husband, Henry of Malden; grandson, Jeremy Lott of St. Genevieve, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Cody Lott & wife Tessa of Campbell, Cierra Lott of Kennett, Amillia Lott of St. Louis and Emma Lott of St. Louis; two great great grandchildren, Corbin Lott of Campbell and Kylie Saltzman of Kennett; brother, Paul Smith & significant other, Audra Eakens; sister, Wanda Binkley of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parent, five sisters and six brothers.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 from 6 - 8 p.m., at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Landess Funeral Home chapel in Malden, with Rev. Aulden LeBlanc officiating. Burial will follow at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
