Malden ~ Evelyn Kay Dixon, 77 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at her residence in Malden, Missouri.

Evelyn, daughter of Edgar and Fayrene Parker Smith, was born on Friday, March 7, 1947 in Rector, Arkansas.

She worked in a nursing home as a housekeeper and was a long time member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden, Missouri.

On March 30, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Donald Dixon. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2011.

Her survivors include two sons, Darrell Dixon and wife, Debbie of Cahokia, Illinois and Darren Dixon and wife, Cortne of Advance, Missouri; two daughters, Kim James and husband, Kevin of Campbell and Melissa Hillis and husband, Raymond of Malden; 14  grandchildren, Derek Dixon, Allison Jones, Gregory Sherman, Dakota Dixon, Bri Magee, Madison Dixon, Ethan Hilderman, Hannah Dixon, Kendal Hilderman, Kyle James, Kevin James, Dustin Chouinard, Bryan Chouinard and Kayson Fielder; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny Ray Smith and wife Carolyn of High Ridge, MO and Eddie Smith and wife, Stacey of St. Louis; two sisters, Sue Newnum and husband, Manco, Sr. of Malden and Linda Jackson and husband, Earl of Malden and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., Thurssay, March 28, 2024 at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, with funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. with Manco Newnum, Sr. officiating. Burial following in Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden.
