Obituary

Campbell – Edith Mae Childers Lyons, 94 of Campbell, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025 at NHC Healthcare in Kennett, Missouri.

Edith, daughter of Henry Clay and Arkie Delphia Johnson Barnes, was born on Wednesday, April 22, 1931 in Hamilton, Alabama.

She was an LPN having worked for the Campbell School and the General Baptist Nursing Home.  She was a graduate of Sikeston LPN School and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Campbell Church of Christ.

On October 13, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Norman Childers.  He preceded her in death on May 17, 1991. She later married Ray Lyons, on February 17, 1995 in Eminence, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 30, 2009.

Her survivors include sons, Bob Childers and wife, Lisa of Sikeston, Mike Childers and wife, Melyenda of Evans, Colorado; grandsons, Danny Childers (Danielle) of Sikeston, Jaysen Childers of Evans, Colorado, Bryce Childers of Greeley, Colorado, Eryk Childers of Yorktown, Virginia; great-grandsons, Gavin Childers, Dylan Childers and Nicholas Childers all of Sikeston; great-great-grandson, John Childers of Sikeston; sister-in-law, Mert Abbott Barnes of Nesbit, Mississippi; step-sons, Dennis Lyons and wife, Tonya of Poplar Bluff, Ronnie Lyons of Malden; nieces, Lori Montgomery and Mary Allen; nephew, Warren Jacques and many other beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by sons, Kenneth Wayne Childers, John Steven Childers; brothers, Wade Barnes and wife, Shirley, Wayne Barnes and wife, Nowedia (Sis); sister, Mary Ruth Shrum and daughter-in-law, Peggy Bader Childers.

Visitations will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Landess Funeral Chapel, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m., with Reverend William Hill officiating.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell are in charge of the arrangements.
