Obituary

Dwane Owens, 85, of Malden, Missouri, passed away at his residence on Monday, June 15, 2026.

He was born on February 14, 1941, in Dexter, Missouri, the son of Ruth Farmer. Dwane proudly served his country in the Army and United States Air Force and was a veteran who carried that sense of duty and commitment throughout his life.

Dwane worked for many years as a mechanic with Chrysler Canada, where he was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical skill, and willingness to help others. He was a man of faith and loved writing music and playing his guitar and singing. He enjoyed nature and his animals.

On June 20, 2022, he married Cheryl Cowan-Wallen in Spring Hill, Florida. Together they shared love, companionship, and many cherished memories. She survives.

His other survivors include his daughter, Darla Young and husband Eric of Ontario, Canada; granddaughter, Jennifer McGarrah and husband Cecil of Heavener, Oklahoma; grandson, Justin Christman and wife Lynn of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; along with many other grand children and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Farmer and two sons, Dwane Allen Owens and Shane Dean Owens.

A private service will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
