Campbell ~ Doris Glenda (Walker) Pearson passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the age of 86 years. Doris was born December 18, 1938, in Parma, Missouri, to Frank and Agnes (Ryon) Walker. She grew up in the Risco area, graduating from Risco High School in 1956, before earning a bachelor's degree from The University of Tennessee at Martin and a master's degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
She married Richard Arthur (Rick) Pearson on November 27, 1960, who passed away only four months before her. They moved to Campbell, Missouri, in 1962.
Doris spent much of her career in education; as an elementary school teacher at Risco, a program administrator at Three Rivers College and the Superintendent of the Pemiscot County Career & Technology Center. Doris was an avid antiques collector, operating Yesteryear Antiques in Campbell for many years. Additionally, Doris supported Rick by assisting him in his businesses throughout their marriage.
Doris was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. In her retirement years, Doris worked as the church's secretary and helped manage its food bank operations. A lover of music, Doris sang in various church choirs and as a soloist throughout her life.
Doris is survived by her daughter Kimberly Johnson of Nashville, Tenn.; her son Richard Pearson II (Jackie) of Campbell, her grandchildren, Andrew Pearson (Allison) of Fenton, Mo., Margaretann Pearson of Springfield, Mo., Elizabeth Pearson of St. Louis, Mo., and by her great-grandson, Bennett Pearson of Fenton, Mo.
Funeral services will be provided by Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri, with Reverend Kevin Murray officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21 at 10:00am followed by the funeral at 11:00am. Graveside services will be for family only.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or Samaritan's Purse.
