Dawsey Lee Brown of Malden was born on Sunday, March 19, 1933 in Campbell, Missouri to the late Leota Lee Brown and William Alexander Brown. He departed this life on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at his residence in Malden at the age of 93 years, 5 months, and 8 days. Dawey Lee served his country honorably in the United States Navy for 8 years and later was an insurance salesman for Globe Life for over 30 years. He also was a member of Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell and sometimes attended Sunnyvale General Baptist Church. On October 13, 1953, Dawsey Lee Brown was united in marriage to Rosalie Loafman. She preceded him in death on October 7, 2014.
He later married Betty Taylor. She survives
His survivors are: his wife, Betty Brown of Malden
Daughters, Dorinda Gail Kinder of New Bloomfield, MO, and Gayla Denise Downs of Ellsinore, MO.
Son: Lance Brown and wife Amy of Campbell, MO
Step daughter, Shandra Goldsmith and husband Tim of Crane, MO
Step son, Brad Taylor and wife Kim of Campbell, MO
8 grandchildren, Ben, Abe, Jake, Evan, Dustin, Drew, Chastidy, and Kaysen
4 step grandchildren, Corey, Erika, Matthew, and Dana
14 great grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren, 1 step great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Rosalie; his son, Derris Lee Brown; step son, Trent Taylor; grandson, Alex Brown; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden. The funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Rev. Bryan Johnson and Rev. James Hamlett officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethany Cemetery in Campbell. Landess Funeral Home in Malden is in charge of the arrangements.
