Darrell Lee Hyde was born March 10, 1945 in Parma, MO to the late Marvin Lee Hyde and Jeanette Wheeler Hyde. He resided in Campbell, MO with Rosalee, his wife of 55 years, who preceded him in death earlier this year. Darrell departed this Earth to be with his Rose on July 30, 2019. He belonged to the First Baptist Church in Campbell.

Darrell was a cowboy at heart and a gentleman rancher, but his work in sales helped to pay the bills. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler over his property, looking for deer, watching his pond, and checking his game cameras. He enjoyed tending his yard and property, working with horses, and filling his shed with saddles, spurs, and cowboy hats. He loved children. His grandkids and many nieces and nephews have fond memories of riding his horses or feeding his miniature donkey.

Darrell spent some of his youth traveling with a carnival, where he wrestled a bear named Yogi. He also spent several years on the wrestling circuit with his brother, Jimmy. They were handsome, so they were always the "good guys" – never the masked villains. Darrell loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his day, and many stories still circulate about his fiery spirit and love of Native American customs. He enjoyed many family trips out West where he found items to add to his collection.

Darrell is survived by his daughter Denise Hatch and husband Ronnie of Malden, MO; son Darren Hyde and wife Rebecca of Ozark, MO; daughter Laura Belcher and husband Chris of Malden, MO; son Mitch Hyde and wife Lisa of Springfield, MO; eight grandchildren, Austin Lee Hatch, Abby Rose Hatch, Elizabeth Kern, Jacob Lee Hyde, Andrew Belcher, Anna Belcher, Ivy Hyde, and Judah Hyde; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Levi, and Weston Kern. While he had no living siblings, he did have a bunch of crazy in-laws, who loved him just the same, and many nieces and nephews who remember him as their Uncle Darrell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalee; parents, Marvin and Jeanette; and his brother Jimmy Hyde. Visitation services will be held at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, MO on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 2 o'clock to 3 with funeral following. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, Austin Hatch, Andrew Belcher, Jake Hyde, and Judah Hyde.

His spirit and personality will live on.
