Darlene Jones, 93 of Malden, Missouri, died quietly Friday, June 14, 2024 at the Crowley's Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Missouri.

Darlene, daughter of Elbert and Gladys Raines Snow was born on Thursday, October 2, 1930 in Townley, Missouri.

She is survived by husband, Ellis Jones of Malden; two daughters, Michele Pawlik and husband, Dave of Peachtree City, Georgia and Patricia Moore and husband, Travis of Bernie; four grandchildren, Sarah Deaver and husband, Tom, Matthew Pawlik, Erin Johnson and husband, Patrick and Emily Hall and husband, Tim; seven great-grandchildren, Tristan Hall, Karlie Hall, Reese Hall, Pace Hall, Avery Green, Ella Deaver and Edson Deaver; brother, Jerry Snow and wife, Betty of Malden and sister, Maxine Thowsen of Henderson, Nevada.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jean Culver and Sue Matthes.

She graduated from Malden High School in 1948 and married Ellis Jones on November 26, 1948. Though she did not have a formal education after high school she knew the value of it and saw learning opportunities that she took advantage of every day of her life.  She even took on a banking career at 40 that she successfully pursued for 15 years.  Darlene's life was characterized by her kindness and giving spirit. She never met someone that she didn't have a smile for and listened to what they had to say.  She never sought attention for herself but relished in the successes of her children, their friends, her husband  and their friends. She was an avid reader, golfer, bridge player, Girl Scout leader and traveled whenever the opportunity arose.  She was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Malden for 70 plus years and was actively involved with United Methodist Women.

She was a friend as well as a mother to her girls and a devoted companion to Ellis.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bernie Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, the Malden Library, or the Malden Historical Museum.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory in Malden are in charge of arrangements.
