Malden ~ Charley Wayne Brooks, 68 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Wayne, son of Charlie Murray Brooks and Ollie Lazell Murphy Treat, was born on Saturday, January 1, 1955 in Cicero, Illinois.

He worked at Federal Mogul; was of the Baptist Faith and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

On October 31, 1998 in Malden, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Sharon Diane Dennis.  She preceded him in death on November 2, 2019.

His survivors include three daughters, Michelle Arnett and husband, Shannon of Mayfield, Kentucky, Nikki Brooks and Erica Hankins and husband, Kyle all of Campbell; grandchildren, Landon Arnett, Kincer Arnett, Mary Kassidy Arnett, Chase Arnett and wife, Holley, Keaton Brooks and  wife, Breanna, Waylon Hankins and J.B. Hankins; one great-grandson, SJ Arnett; five sisters, Reba Suchy and husband, John, Brenda Gogerty and husband, Terry, twin sister, Glenda Treat, Sharon Parker and husband, Dave and Geneva Shupe; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 11 A.M., Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri, with services beginning at 12 p.m. with Reverend Bruce Vinson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn-Landess Addition Cemetery in Campbell, Missouri.  Pallbearers will be Keaton Brooks, Landon Arnett, Chase Arnett, Kincer Arnett, Shannon Arnett, Kyle Hankins, and Waylon Hankins and honorary pallbearer J.B. Hankins

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded by one brother, Richard Brooks and one sister, Jenny Brooks.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell are in charge of the arrangements.
