Malden ~ Charles Johnson, 76 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Charles, son of James Homer and Lemma Harris Johnson, was born on Friday, August 2, 1946 in Malden, Missouri.

He was a construction worker and a member of the First General Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.

On April 3, 1965 in Malden, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Wanda McGill.  She survives.

Other survivors include one daughter, Penny Blalock and husband, David of Malden; one granddaughter, Kara Miller and husband, Curt of Malden; two great-grandchildren, Stella Miller and Myles Miller; one sister, Marilee Jakobitz and husband, Wayne of Clinton, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; and grand dog, Sophie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Homer Johnson and his sister, Martha Singleton.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m., Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m., with Reverend Stewart-Allen Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
