Malden ~ Carolyn Sue Crump, 79 of Malden, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at Aspire Senior Living in Malden, Missouri.

Carolyn, daughter of David and Virgie Oatman Phelps, was born on Saturday, May 31, 1947 in Malden, Missouri.

She was a retired office manager for a construction company and was an attended both the First Christian Church and Stoklan Drive Christian Church in Malden, Missouri.

She was first married to Terry Karlish on February 22, 1943 in Piggott, Arkansas. This marriage end in divorce. She later married Donald Franklin Crump on October 6, 1989, in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2019.

Her survivors include daughter, Tara Nix and husband, Gary of Malden; son, Troy Karlish and wife, Joanie of Malden; grandchildren, Kara Abernathy (Travis), Sara Goodnight (Josh), Rachael Nix, Melody Karlish, Taylor Karlish (Jaden Cobb); Great-Grandchildren, Jasmine Goodnight, Aryk Abernathy and Brody Abernathy; extended family, Macy Owens (Bryson), Makayla Walker, Makinley Walker, Carlee Owens and Joey Kate Owens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, David Phelps, Jr., and Joseph David Phelps and sister, Shirley Ann Vaughn.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden, Missouri will be in charges of arrangements.
