Obituary

Malden ~ Bobby Dement, 86 of Malden, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Ridgeview Living Center in Malden.

Bobby, son of Haskel and Cora Dunivent Dement, was born on Tuesday, August 23, 1932 in Holcomb, Missouri.

He ran Hart's Gin and Elevator for 15 years and then manager of Hart's Grocery for several years.  He was a Veteran of the United State Army having served during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Methodist Church in Holcomb and the American Legion Post 293 for 50 years.

On February 10, 1956 in Hernando, Mississippi, he was united in marriage to Valo Golden.  She survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert Dement of Piggott, Perry Dement of Memphis, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Elizabethe Biri of Cape Girardeau; one grandson, David Dement of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; one great-grandson, Tyson Dement of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; one sister, and Betty Demay of Collierville, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Naomi Fuller; Violet Moore; three brothers, Clay Dement, Willard Dement and H.W. Dement.

Visitation will be from 1 – 2 p.m., Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with services beginning at 2 p.m. with Reverend Tom Zych officiating.  Burial will follow at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
