Obituary

Betty Jo Green of Campbell, Missouri, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on Monday, July 6, 1931, in Malden, MO, to Acy and Irene Sneed Bowman, Betty Jo was a proud 1948 graduate of Malden High School. On December 15, 1949, she married Dale Green in Piggott, Arkansas, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned 76 years.

A dedicated homemaker and farmer's wife, Betty Jo found joy in the simple labors of life, from picking cotton and tending her vegetable garden to sewing clothes for her family. She was a longtime, active member of Bethany General Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, volunteered for Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and was well-known for the apple pies she prepared for church dinners.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Green; her daughter, Linnie (Max) Harris of Jackson, MO; granddaughters Valerie (Chad) Crow of Senatobia, MS, and Jennifer Smith of Bernie, MO; five great-grandchildren: Karsyn, Carter, Chloe, Ridge, and Rhett; and one great-great-grandchild, Kinley; daughter-in-law, Mary Green of Bernie

Betty Jo went to be with her Lord, joyously reuniting with those who preceded her in death: her parents; her son, Rodney Green; her brothers, Benton, Calvin, and Ed Bowman; and her sisters, Nadine Trobaugh and Martha Teaster.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 23, 2026 at Landess Funeral Home in Malden, with the funeral service following at 11 a.m., with Reverend Bryan Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery in Campbell.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Bethany Cemetery Fund, 17688 County Rd 102, Campbell, MO 63933.
