Malden – Bernice Leona Pyle, 81 of Malden, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at her residence in Malden, Missouri.

Bernice, daughter of John A. and Margie McCormick Williams, was born on Wednesday, August 22, 1945 in Piggott, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

On October 9, 1962 in St. Francis, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Harry “Doc” O. Pyle. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2012.

Her survivors include daughters, Teresa Payne of Malden, K. Suzie Wright and husband, Rob of Jonesboro, Illinois; son, Shane Pyle and wife, Freda of New Kent, Virginia; grandchildren, Matt Brown, Summer Whittenberg (Kevin), Sarah Brown, Zech Payne (Jordyne), Zeke Pyle, Zach Pyle, Mattie Pyle, Jaime Wright, Jodie Dial and Jessica Wright; and 16 Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Travis Williams; sisters, Janet Melton, Carolyn Hatton, Sharon McElwrath; great-grandchildren, Erin Whittenberg, Darcy Whittenberg and Samuel Whittenberg.

Visitation will begin at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, with funeral service beginning at 4:30 p.m., at the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Campbell will be in charge of the arrangements.
