Obituary

Gideon ~ Beatrice Hatley, 92 of Gideon, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Gideon Care Center in Gideon, Missouri.

Beatrice, daughter of George and Myrtle McCowan Lamb, was born on Monday, April 23, 1928 in Helena, Arkansas.

She was a Homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Gideon, serving as Sunday School Teacher, Bible School and was in the Ladies Prayer Group.

On September 14, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Orland William "Red" Hatley.  He preceded her in death on October 27, 2016.

Other survivors include, two daughters, Linda Moore and husband, Nathan of Mesa, Arizona, Carol Downing of Malden; two sons, Lanny Hatley and wife, Jonalene  and Kevin Hatley and wife, Angie all of Gideon; four grandchildren, Natalie Duval and husband, Dan of Williamsburg, Virginia, Sunny Borders and husband, Andy of Malden, Erika Balderas and husband, Zoe of Jonesboro, Mia Hatley of Gideon; seven great-grandchildren, Grace Duval, Claire Duval, Lydia Duval, Giselle Duval, Joel Duval, Joshua Borders and Liam Balderas.

Beside her husband, Red, she was preceded in death by her parents; one great-grandson, Nathaniel Duval; son-in-law, John Downing II; three brothers, William Vanderbilt, George Vanderbilt, Frank Vanderbilt; two sisters, Evelyn Wewer and Betty Lou Lamb.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Gideon with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m., with Brother Paul Karratti officiating.  Burial will follow at Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.

Landess Funeral Home of Malden will be in charge of the arrangements.
