Bernie ~ Barbara Jean Spitzer, 83 of Bernie, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Winchester Nursing Center in Bernie, Missouri.

Barbara, daughter of Earl C. and Hilda Cleo Malin Wood, was born on Wednesday, March 6, 1940 in Campbell, Missouri.

She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

On May 7, 1959 in Bernie, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William Dalton Spitzer.  He preceded her in death on November 24, 2019.

Her survivors include two sons, Scott Spitzer (Jackie) of Bernie, Kevin Spitzer (Lisa) of Malden; six grandchildren, Chris Spitzer, B.J. Spitzer, Natalie Zimmerman, Lari Jean Hardin, Shianne Spitzer, and Mica Spitzer; as well as several great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Spitzer; grandson, Justin Spitzer and three sisters, Donna Young, Betty Lindley, and Elizabeth Ann Wood.

Visitation will be held at Landess Funeral Home in Malden on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Reverend Bryan Johnson officiating.

Landess Funeral Home and Crematory of Malden are in charge of the arrangements.
