Marvena Fadler Osborn, age 82, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, went to meet the Lord on May 19, 2023.
Born Barbara Marvena Fadler on January 21, 1941 in Sumach, Missouri to Marvin and Lucille Ham Fadler, Marvena started school at age five, skipped from first grade to third grade and graduated from Kennett High School, in Missouri, at age 16. Upon graduation, she worked as a stenographer at the state welfare office in Kennett until September 10, 1959, when she married Jack Osborn. In 1967, with their three children and extended family, they moved from Kennett to Arkansas, where she handled the books for Ark-Mo and BigMo Farms/Ranch in Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and Alabama.
In 1975, they moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, where Marvena joined Green Meadows Baptist Church. She was very active in church life, making beautiful floral arrangements from her flower garden, teaching Sunday school and Bible school. A gospel songwriter and singer, she often sang at church and nursing homes. In addition to her roles at church, Marvena was always active in her children's activities, serving as Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout leader and 4-H leader.
Marvena is survived by her daughter Cindy (Guy) Rivers of Olive Branch, MS, sons Keith (Suzanne) Osborn of Plainview, AR and Steve (Michelle) Osborn of Mayflower, AR; grandchildren Zachary Osborn Jones, Chase Osborn, Katie (Cole) Osborn Schaefer, Cheney Osborn and Evan (Grace) Peck; and great-grandchildren Brayden, Charlotte, and Clyde.
Also surviving are her brother Gerald (Janice) Fadler of Bernie, MO; sisters Karen (Paul) Urick of Troup, TX, Janice Dickerson of Bay Minette, AL, and Brenda (Gene) Lindley of Decatur, AL; "twin" cousin Judy Fadler Fisher and many cousins, nephews, nieces and friends.
Marvena was predeceased by Jack Osborn, her loving and devoted husband of 41 years, on August 12, 2000 and her older brother Paul Winston Fadler who was born and died August 23, 1939.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m., with burial following at Rosewood First Addition Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.
